A FLOATING PAINTING EXHIBITION OF ARCTIC ICEBERGS
THE ICEBERGS HAVE NOW BEEN TAKEN OFF THEIR MOORINGS, AND THE PROJECT FILM IS IN PROGRESS. WITH HUGE THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED MAKE THE PROJECT HAPPEN. PLEASE SEE FOOTAGE IN THE IMAGE GALLERY
The Melt, by Anthony Garratt, will float giant, double sided paintings of Arctic Icebergs on swinging moorings from 10 June 2024.
The reference footage has both been sent by inspiring, modern-day explorers of the changing Arctic landscape.
The project is a poetic nod to the demise of these geographical marvels and also a tribute to the spirit of modern exploration.
In a reference to time, and changing global landscapes; as the paintings swing on their moorings and on each switch of the tide, the reverse of the painting panels will depict paintings of icebergs referencing photographs of Arctic Icebergs from the 1800s.
